It’s been a few since we introduced some new one-of-a-kind pieces, so sharing these two blue beauts seemed like a nice way to kick off the new decade!

Introducing Viewfinder and Comb from our Hand-Painted Collection.

Hand painted Comb quilt

After painting both sides of the fabric with a flour paste, I dipped ’em in indigo over and over to get those deep, rich blues. When I got back in India, I found the perfect indigo ajrakh (block printed cotton) to pair with each painting as the quilt’s flip side.

All the delicate stitching was done by hand by artisans in Hodka village in rural Kutch, which happens to be very close to a great salt desert, the White Rann of Kutch. I couldn’t resist a quick visit there after I picked up the finished quilts. Doesn’t it kinda look like the moon?! ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓

Hope your year is off to a great start!

Much love,
